Test reports: How the warm-up cape performed!
05.12.23: Five human-dog teams tested the Warm-up Cape from actionfactory for us for a month. We are sharing their experiences, impressions and reviews with you here!
To the Warmup-Cape: It is designed to dry dogs and keep them warm in cool weather. It is therefore worn after walks or exercise, for example, especially if your four-legged friend is waiting in unheated rooms or in a cold car. The warm-up cape has a cotton terry side for drying and a fleece side for warmth.

My dog and I had the opportunity to test the Warmup Cape Pro from actionfactory – we are both delighted. There are a total of five colours to choose from.
From communication to sizing – which was quite simple thanks to the information on the Actionfactory website (Gracie wears a standard size S) – everything went absolutely smoothly until the package arrived.
The chosen size fits well, the neckline is large enough for the ‘thick head’ 😉
The cape has leg loops at the back to prevent slipping. The large bib and strap also provide good protection for the chest.
We were able to use the Warm Up Cape during our short break in the Harz Mountains. Unfortunately, despite the fantastic hiking trails, we also had a lot of rain – but that's to be expected in the Harz Mountains in November 😉 As we returned to our camper van after our hikes, it was particularly important to me that my dog stayed dry.
The material feels nice, is cosy and also seems really warm. The short-haired dog dried very quickly under the terry cloth, so we were able to turn the cape over relatively quickly. The cape is then not wet on the other side, so the moisture does not pass through. This made the journey home more comfortable for her than being wet and cold.
However, it is also suitable for cold walks without getting wet. It fits well and does not bother the dog. The cape also has a slit for attaching a leash.
We were allowed to choose our favourite colour. My personal favourites were pine green and Bordeaux. Of course, I would have liked to have had more choice (e.g. orange? 😍) – but that's just nitpicking. 😁
We would definitely recommend the warm-up cape and will probably buy a second one 😊😊
Conclusion
We are very satisfied with the fit, the large chest flap protects the chest and stomach. That's 5 paws. 
The drying scale also has 5 paws.
The delivery was extremely fast, so 5 paws for that too.
I would have to come up with something negative now 😉 Luxury problems such as more colour choices or visibility on the cape. But these are not ‘must-haves’ – so it's actually nonsense to give them lower marks for that. 😊

The Warmup Cape arrived in a standard parcel, but the cape was also wrapped in plastic film. This could easily be omitted, which would be more environmentally friendly. On the positive side, the cape looks exactly like the picture on the website in terms of colour.
I give it 3.5 out of 5 paws 
, as it would be very easy to make shipping a little more sustainable.
The belly strap is easy to adjust and the collar can also be made tighter or looser, which I think is really great. However, I would like it if the leg straps could also be adjusted, as they are quite wide on Pippin and it would be great if they could be made tighter.
That's why we give it 3.5 out of 5 paws.
Movement is no problem at all. I did some dummy training with Pippin while he was wearing the warm-up cape and he was completely unrestricted. He can run and romp around with it without any problems and shows no change in his gait even when trotting normally.
I can only give it 5 out of 5 paws.
I put it through its paces and put the cape on Pippin completely wet after his bath. To my surprise, it removed a lot of water from his coat really quickly and the fleece side was still dry. The cape saves me a lot of time blow-drying him, so 5 out of 5 paws.
Did turning the cape work well?
It works fine for us, even though the washing instructions on the terry side bother me a little, but that's just nitpicking. Otherwise, the terry side holds the absorbed water well in the layer, so that you can use the fleece side afterwards without any problems. That's why I give it 4.5 out of 5 paws. 
The cape survived the washing machine very well and was dry again the next morning. I have no complaints, so it's another 5 out of 5 paws.
How do you like the colour of your cape and the colour selection of the warm-up capes in general?
Actionfactory has now added even more colours to its range and the colour selection is definitely sufficient. There's something for everyone. I chose Bordeaux and I really like the colour. However, all colours suit Pipp very well.
I give the colour selection 5 out of 5 paws.
I like that the cape has reflective accents on the chest and sides. There is a slit for the collar, which has already proven to be practical. Overall, the warmup cape will be a great companion for the future and I am grateful that Pippin and I were able to put it through its paces.

1. The cape was delivered in sturdy cardboard packaging, wrapped in plastic film and accompanied by a letter. The enclosed letter is illustrated and accompanied by brief, easy-to-understand text.
Tip:
More environmentally friendly inner packaging would further emphasise the product's character would further emphasise the product's character. –> 4 paws2. The reversible cape is neatly finished. Both sides feel pleasantly soft and you can already sense its warming function. –> 4 paws 
3. The size chart on the manufacturer's website is easy to understand. This gave us a good indication of the size.
As it turned out, there is too much fabric in the hind leg area and it hangs down a little.
The length is perfect, but a little too wide for slimmer dog breeds. –> 3.5 paws
4. The cape is quick and easy to put on, take off or turn inside out.
To do this, I pull the cape over my hand and roll up the neck collar a little. –> 5 paws
5. The adjustable buckle ensures an optimal fit on the body.
The drawstring at the neck ensures a comfortable fit. –> 5 paws
6. Even with the Warmup Cape, the dog has maximum freedom of movement. Nothing constricts or restricts. –> 5 paws
7. We were surprised at how quickly the terry cloth side (100% cotton according to the manufacturer) absorbed moisture from the dog's coat.
We used the reversible cape both after a strenuous and sweaty agility training session and after a walk in damp weather.
On the way home in the car, our dog was quickly dry and, after turning it over, was wrapped up nice and warm in the cosy fleece. –> 5 paws
8. Turning it over is very easy. Even the dog can do it easily 😉. –> 5 paws
9. We haven't had to wash the cape yet, as small stains can be easily wiped off. –> Therefore, no rating
10. There is a wide range of colours to choose from. The beautiful colours made it difficult for us to choose.
We finally decided on Pine Green and are very happy with our choice, as the colour suits him perfectly. –> 5 paws
11. There are other features that we found impressive and are worth mentioning:
- The neck collar is nice and long and can be turned up if necessary. A cord allows you to adjust the width.
- The cape has a practical Velcro fastener so that the lead can be easily attached to the collar.
We opted for the cape with the sewn-on belt. This makes it easy to adjust the circumference of the warm-up cape. As our dog has a slim build, the belt needs to be tightened. Unfortunately, this means that the belt hangs down a little too long.
Our final conclusion:
We were impressed by the cape's dual function. We are very pleased with it and will be using it often. Thank you very much!

Full of anticipation, Fey and I unpacked the DryUp WarmUp Reversible Cape Mini together. Thanks to the transparent packaging, I was able to catch a first glimpse of the cape.
My husband, who was unfamiliar with the cape, searched the internet, as unfortunately there was no detailed information about the reversible cape on the outside of the packaging.
I was surprised at how cosy and fluffy the WarmUp was. It felt warm straight away.
One side of the WarmUp reversible cape is made of terry cloth, which is designed to dry the dog, and the other side is made of soft fleece for warmth. Both sides feel pleasant and the cape itself is very well made.
Fey was allowed to slip it on straight away so that the cape could be adjusted for her. I was worried that it might not fit around the chest, but this concern was unfounded. It fits perfectly both around the chest and in terms of back length (30 cm). The neck collar can be adjusted with a drawstring.
Once that was done, the cape went into the washing machine for its first test. It dried in no time and was ready to use the next day. Neither the feel nor the shape had changed.
The first rainy walk wasn't long in coming. Although we got really wet and Fey's tummy was really dirty, she was dry and almost clean after a 30-minute drive home 👍
The dirt was easily shaken out of the terry cloth afterwards.
The fleece side came in handy during our dog training sessions. The cape kept her very warm, especially during breaks and afterwards. It wasn't restrictive and allowed her to move freely, even running backwards was no problem. The straps for the hind legs meant it didn't slip at all and kept all the important muscle areas warm – which is very important for Fey's back.
The opening at the neck meant that putting on a collar was no problem.
Only the drawstring for adjusting the neck was a little in the way and dangled around. However, it can be easily ‘pushed in’ or ‘hidden’ by turning up the neck area.
The ultimate ‘absorption test’ came after Fey's regular shower. Due to her allergies, she has to be showered regularly. Drying always takes forever and, especially now in winter, she unfortunately gets cold very quickly. Thanks to the cape, she dried quickly and showed no signs of feeling cold. Here, too, it delivered what it promised.
Conclusion of our 4-week test:
4.5 out of 5 paws and therefore –> Highly recommended 👍
The Warmup reversible cape delivers what it promises: quick drying and cosy warmth.
My mini Aussie is now going to get one too.

When unpacking, I immediately noticed that the seams are strong, the workmanship is high quality and there are no loose threads –> 5 paws .
The material is quite heavy, as it is not a thin fabric but a really sturdy weave. In addition, the cape does not give off any unpleasant chemical odours. The soft material on both sides feels really nice to the touch.
However, I would prefer plastic-free packaging –> 4 paws
Due to the constant rain, the cape ended up in the laundry regularly.
If you follow the washing instructions, the cape stays just as soft as on the first day and, fortunately, dries quickly –> 5 paws
On the subject of drying: due to Nala's thick fur, I opted for a loose fit, although a size smaller would also have been fine.
The measurements are easy to check and make it simple to choose the right size.
I fold the collar down a little, as Nala has a lot of fur around her head. –> 5 paws
The thick undercoat doesn't dry completely, but it dries much faster than without the cape.
What's more, it not only absorbs moisture, but also dirt easily and reliably – a real lifesaver! –> 5 paws
Putting it on and taking it off is child's play and can be done in no time at all. Turning the cape inside out and adjusting it is also a breeze –> 5 paws
Since we often visit the lake, we also tested the cape for freedom of movement here.
Nala was able to move around, play and even sleep comfortably with the cape on –> 5 paws
The tab for attaching the leash is particularly practical. (That deserves an extra paw)
I am very happy with the muted colours and our camel shade. A peach colour would also be nice. Or maybe a pattern? –> 5 paws
Our final conclusion:
We can't imagine everyday life without it anymore, so we are happy to award it 5 paws.
