Bathrobes for dogs - luxury or necessity?

Do you have a dog that loves splashing in puddles? A pond diver? A stream explorer? Or do you simply get caught in the rain when you're out walking? Then this ‘Tested’ edition is particularly exciting. We tried out the zip.fit dryup body and dryup cape dog bathrobes from Actionfactory to see what they can do.

The dog – the animal lover's favourite child – brings not only a lot of fun and joy into the home, but also a lot of work. After a walk, it is often wet and dirty. It doesn't matter whether it was just an unpleasant rainy day, whether the dog had fun in the lake or at the sea, or whether it simply romped through the tall grass of a meadow full of joie de vivre and rolled around there extensively.

No matter what, your dog will be wet and dirty after a walk! Dry them off with an old terry towel? Sure, that's one option. But your dog will still be damp afterwards, and there will still be bits of dirt or sand in their fur.

This remaining dirt only falls off when the dog's coat is completely dry! This is exactly where the original dryup®cape from ‘actionfactory from the fit4dogs line’ comes in handy:

With the dryup®cape, your dog's coat will be completely dry within 30 minutes. The cotton draws moisture out of the coat and stores it in the fibres. Any remaining dirt in the wet coat can now fall off and is caught by the original dryup® cape. After taking off the cape, simply shake it out and hang it up to dry – done! Your dog is dry and there is no dirt in the house.

The original dryup®cape is very easy to put on. It fits perfectly, does not restrict the dog's movement and allows it to move freely. The belly flap covers a large part of the belly; the long collar dries the fur on the neck and ears; the wide apron below the tail hole also dries the long fur on the hind legs quickly. With the new dryup® body zip.fit®, the legs are also well covered!

Difference between cotton and microfibre
Cotton Microfibre
  • 100% natural fibre
  • 100% microfibre
  • Moisture is stored in the fibres
  • Moisture is stored between the fibres
  • does not release moisture well under pressure; moisture remains in the fabric
  • Advantage: the dog dries quickly
  • Disadvantage: the fabric dries slowly
  • quickly releases moisture when pressure is applied.
  • Advantage of the fabric: quick drying
  • Disadvantage: the dog does not dry optimally
  • Dirt sticks to the loops
  • Dirt does not adhere very well to the smooth surface
  • No electrical charge due to friction on the fur, making it very comfortable for the dog to wear
  • Electrical charge caused by friction on the fur is often perceived as unpleasant by dogs
